Introduction and Interests |Hussein joined the lab in Fall, 2020. He is interested in solar photovoltaic design, control, energy planning with the application of artificial intelligence, rapid and intelligent optimization, and stochastic dynamic programming. When he is taking time off, he likes watching mysterious movies and taking a stroll.

Introduction and Interests |Taeksoo joined the lab in Spring, 2020. He is interested in improving the usage of compressed air in manufacturing industries by designing an efficient storage system both in simulations and experiments. He is also interested in learning technologies related to saving energy. When he is taking time off, he likes watching movies, walking, and listening to music.

Introduction and Interests | Rafael joined the lab in Spring, 2019. He is interested in energy efficiency in the built environment, renewable energy, controls, sustainability, and unconventional energy storage. Apart from working on industrial systems at the project level consulting with manufacturing plants in the state, he is interested in experimenting with novel ways to store energy and reduce costs in wastewater treatment facilities. When he is taking time off, he likes reading, cooking, hiking, listening to a good podcast, and learning about new technologies and history.

He is interested in the analysis of occupants’ thermal comfort and potential energy savings in HVAC systems, analysis of residential building energy characteristics, and fault detection and diagnosis of HVAC systems using connected smart thermostat data. When he is taking time off, he likes reading books, cooking, long-distance cycling, and hiking.
